  Having walked for more than two hours we were delighted to arrive at the pub we had booked for lunch. We got there on time ordered our drinks and food and then waited.... and waited after an hour we enquired when our food would be arriving and were told that it would be another 20 minutes. We had only ordered two salads and two filled ciabatta. These were all standard items from the menu. Our drinks were given to us but that wasn't the point we left starving hungry with nowhere else in the immediate area to eat. This pub is not to be recommended. In the hour we sat waiting we only saw one plate of food come out of the kitchen. Appalling

  Awesome! We were looking for a stop over for 3 campervans on way to Dover. They were totally accommodating, even greeted us as we pulled in to their car park. 5 adults n 1 fussy eating child rocked on up into the pub to eat....they went out of their way to mix n match their menu to put a great plate of food in front of our son. Adult meals all lovely.....especially the chips, they were bloody beaut. On our return journey from dover 5 days later having been mucked bout by the ferry (5 n half hours later sailing than we should have) I rang them again to ask to stay as didn't fancy the 5 hour drive home....again was greeted with a warm welcome. Lovely pub, lovely food and lovely people. Thanks very much Black Horse.x

  My husband and I stopped off here for lunch last week and we were so glad we did. The food was delicious, I had a steak cooked just how I like it with chips to die for, and my husband had the best fish and chips he said he'd had for a long time, perfectly crunchy batter and beautiful fish. The two lovely ladies serving us couldn't have been more friendly and we even had a complimentary 'chip n dip' starter! Would thoroughly recommend.
